What
makes a good bar?
It's pointless to have a bar with all the essential
Nutritional
Content,
but tastes so bad you cannot stomach another bite!
Protein bars don’t taste like candy bars! and it's certainly
the kind of taste you have to get used to, but they are very healthy and
convenient alternatives to a meal or protein drink. A good bar should have a good
nutritional profile, high in quality protein, moderately low in
carbohydrates, sugar and saturated fat. The Nutrients test will score as
follows:
1
- No beneficial nutritional content whatsoever
2
- Bar has very little nutritional value
3
- Not bad
4
- Bar has below average nutritional content
5
- Average nutritional content
6
- Ok - Bar has above average nutritional content
7

8

9

10

The
Taste Test will look for good, rich
flavor, good texture and good
overall size. Those bars with bitter aftertastes or a sticky texture
that sticks to the wrapper will lose points. We want you to enjoy your
bars, after all it's your money that's being spent and we want you to
get the most out of your fitness program, therefore getting the right
bar is crucial. The taste test chart is below:
