3Feb05Week2.jpg (48969 bytes)Week Two

Monday 7th February     14.00 EST
Current Stats:
Height: 5ft 7.5",
Weight Now: 161.5 pounds,
Waist: 32"
Body fat : 12.1%

Week 1 over and done with, the substantial change that I was expecting over the first 7 days has been achieved, through daily cardio and on the eating regime that I had planned out for the first week I have managed to loose 4.5 pounds in weight, the majority of this is fat loss and not muscle loss, I have even maintained my bicep size which is important as muscle loss is not what I wanted to occur.

It's not been an easy week but the results have been rewarding. Lots of people have already said to me that it looks like my face has slimmed down, as for the rest of me, its still difficult to tell through my shirts etc as my cloths size's are still the same and in the medium to large range. However I have noticed that my jeans have dropped down my waist by some way as an over all loss of 1" round my waist is really noticeable to me.

My once well proud of beer belly is slowly pulling itself in, it seems to not only be shrinking but feels so much tighter after all the ab exercises, for one whole week all I have felt is bruising in the ab region, for this reason I really know I am working them and tearing down that ab muscle tissue for it to rebuilt bigger, hard for me to laugh or cough at the moment, you all know what this feels like I am sure, if you have ever done a good set of ab exercises for the first time, you get a feeling in that stomach area that makes it feel as though its been bashed about with a cane, it’s a feeling which although hurts for 3 or 4 days keeps you smiling as you know you have worked those abs to the max.

My abs seemed to of started burning on the 2nd and 3rd day after working them, whereas I know some people get this feeling the day after, all our body's are different so don’t be surprised if the day after working your abs you get no burning sensation as you expected, as for me it occurred few days after and to this very moment they are burning like hell, to get out of bed a few days after working them was an experience I have not had before, had to roll out sideways onto the floor and then lift myself up, soon as the abs get some movement and warm up they do get easier to maneuver, but that first thing in the morning was a nightmare, it honestly felt like a horse had kicked me in the stomach region, as the abs get used to the exercises it is sure to get easier and less pain full.

I also expect the 2nd week to have similar results with the overall weight/fat loss, but after this I expect that the overall loss to substantially slow down. I had no idea on how much weight loss through fat burning I could achieve in this first week, however, I also expect the 2nd week to have very similar results, maybe not as much of a loss but may be a couple of pounds would be ideal, the 3rd week will be were it gets harder to achieve such rewarding results as by then most of my excess fat will be gone and burning it off in the areas such as around the waist line will be much harder.

I do hope you can all see some difference in between week 1 and week 2 photo's, if you look you will see fat loss in certain areas such as in the face and stomach regions.

I have to say that the worst thing to occur to me over the first week is my chest (pectorals) region, although I have lost lots of fat in this area I have some flabby skin left around the pectoral region, you can see this in the photos, due to such a fat loss in the area over a short amount of time has left me with excess droopy skin, I will work on this over the next few weeks with plenty of bench pressing to build the muscles in the chest area to push out the loose skin and tighten it up, it’s a little bit disappointing for me to see this at the moment but in the next 3 or 4 weeks with lifting weights I hope for it to disappear.

I will stick to my same ab routine as week 1 seems to be working fine although I do not expect to see signs of my abs until about week 4, a two or slight 4 pack may just be pushing through by then if I'm lucky, this is all dependant on whether I achieve my body fat percentage of below 10% by then. Once I am in the region of around 9.5% we should see the first signs of that six pack, keeping my fingers crossed.

My Calorie intake will be increased by about 300 Kcal a day on week 2's eating regime as on the odd occasion this week just gone I felt tired and lazy, the last thing we want to do is deprive the body of calories as it will have various bad impacts all over the body resulting in less overall cardio done due to tiredness.

Don’t over do it guys/girls as you'll only end up at the doctors and few days in bed recovering, last thing you want is to be behind schedule, gradually get the body used to the cardio and different eating habits and it will be your daily routine in no time, If I can do this, so can you, just put your mind to it and always say to yourself, "I will have a six pack".

Hope you'll join me next week in "week 3" and view my latest stats to see my progress to abs in 12 weeks, trust me, if you get some pain during your workouts you will get a gain. No pain then no gain as we always say!
