My "AB"
training has always stayed pretty
much the same. I
train them just like any
other muscle,
with intensity and control.
I train them
every other day HARD!
It's the key is
building solid abs. Half
hearted ab
workouts won't develop cut abs,
so keep your
sessions intense, with full
concentration on
the abdominal muscles..
My "AB"
workout consists of this:
Decline Sit Ups: 4 sets of 25 reps followed by
crunches: 4 sets
of 25 reps
Lying leg raises:4 sets of 25 reps
Hanging leg raises: 4 sets of 25 reps
I don't always
count exact repetitions, especially on
the last sets,
i'll just go till I reach failure, this way i'll
know i've worked
my about to the best of my ability.
If you want a great "Six Pack" you have to train them just like any
other muscle on your body, with forced reps and weight. I'll usually pick up a
loose plate and hold above my forehead for crunches and decline sit ups. You'll
find that adding the weight will not only burn those abs, but will significantly
reduce the amount of reps you'll be able to complete.
I also keep a clean diet that's the whole key. If your "ABS" are
covered with body fat you will never see them. You have to eat clean to develop
eye catching abs. Lots of protein packed meals and lower carboyhdrate, sodium and
sugar intake with lots of water throughout the day is the key.
I typically eat Grilled Chicken, Fish, Lean Beef, Yams, Brown Rice, Oatmeal,
Greens, and Meal Replacements. Every meal I consume is packed with protein, it's
an essential nutrient, not only for a balanced metabolism, but it's the key to
building muscle and losing body fat, so be sure to eat lots of chicken, fish or
protein shakes. That's pretty much it. I take one day out of the
week to cheat, Usually on Sunday. I'm and Italian so you know what that means!
