What does Shawn eat to stay so fit and lean?

My Routine

I train abs every other day or every day. I like to also change things up and keep my exercises exciting and different! Sometimes I super set them between my weight training work outs and other days I also devote 10 minutes of super setting the abdominals after my weight training work outs. I will generally perform 4 exercises back to back, reps range from 25-50. The key is to execute the abdominals in a super set fashion, with no rest, this works best for me. This really will give you the chiseled abs when you do abs for 10 min non-stop! I like to perform lower abdominal work followed by upper abdominal work! My favorites are hanging leg raises, reverse crunches and leg kicks where you lay flat on your back, hands at your side, and you kick your leg up as high as you can while concentrating on pulling your abs and in, Olympic gymnast & I being a dancer (ballet, jazz & hip-hop) use this exercise frequently, it really targets the lower abs & not to mention will give you awesome high kicks and is my favorite!

         

I also like cable machine - rope crunches, I perform 20-50 crunches, this targets the entire abdominal musculature!

Cardiovascular training is crucial as well in getting the abs that you want! I do cardiovascular training 5-6 times a week, and do at least 30-45 minutes per session, you should not do more then an hour since exercise science studies have shown that you begin to burn muscle when you over do it and go way over an hour! Balance is key!

I also really like sprint training! It activates the fast twitch muscle fibers, these muscle fibers are activated when performing explosive moves! Performing sprints will give your figure the sleek curvy look!

They key to fabulous abs is to eat clean and healthy! Stay away from sodas, fried and processed foods. The key is to eat the way our bodies were designed to eat pure and clean, you will have so much energy and be on your way to a healthy mind and body!

Typical Days Diet

Breakfast: ½ cup oatmeal, 4 hard boiled egg whites and a coffee.

Lunch: Romaine lettuce salad and tuna or grilled chicken

Snack: Protein shakes (low carb).

Dinner: Mixed vegetables and grilled or boiled chicken (or baked/poached fish)

Supper: Whey Protein shake or other protein source
