A Brief insight into Malinda's diet and training program that keeps
here in great shape.
What form of cardio do you find to be most beneficial? When it comes to cardio, I do a little bit of everything. For me, sprinting and interval training seem to work the best for fat loss. I like running a lot, but it tends to slim the muscle in my legs a little too much. And don’t forget the fun cardio—tennis, swimming, going for a bike ride, etc. It all adds up. What kind of weight training routine do you follow? I weight train 4 days a week: back/biceps, chest/triceps, legs, and shoulders. Shoulders get a day to themselves because mine need a little more attention and work than some of the other muscle groups.
How often do you train your abs and what are your favorite exercises? I train my abs 3 days a week. I really focus on contracting the abs no matter what the exercise may be. For ab training, it’s about the squeeze or the contraction, not just going through the motions as fast as you can. I do strength training for my abs about once a week. The other exercises are all slow and controlled movements. I like any ab exercise that uses a stability ball or a medicine ball or something extra. What’s the best way to achieve those “SixPackNow” abs? Good quality ab exercises are, indeed, important. But those great muscles aren’t going to show without a good diet. A diet low in fat and high in vegetables and lean protein is important. I really like tilapia and salmon as a source of protein in my diet. Cardio is also going to help burn away that fat layer. Do you have any advice for other women striving for that toned stomach? Don’t expect overnight results—that will only discourage you. Instead, set a longer term goal. Training abs takes only a small part of your day. And the best part…you can do ab exercises anywhere--whether on vacation, at home, or in the gym. So start out by setting aside 10-15 minutes a few days a week to work your abs and watch that diet. Good luck—you can do it!
I hope this is good, but let me know if you need more info. I am so
grateful for this opportunity. Thank you.
