About me...

 
I am a 33 year old stay-at-home mom to an awesome 3 year old daughter, Annemarie. I have been athletic pretty much my entire life. I was a swimmer growing up and I still enjoy swimming laps as part of my exercise regiment. I consider myself an “exercise enthusiast”! If I miss a workout it truly affects my mood. My motto is “I either need anti-depressants or exercise.” I started lifting weights about 2 years ago and it really did change the entire shape of my body. Not only did my body change, but I got stronger, which I loved. .

My Weekly Workouts:

Monday: Body Pump (Les Mills)
Turbo Kickboxing (Powder Blue)

Wednesday: PiYo (Powder Blue) or Athletic Conditioning
Turbo Kickboxing (Powder Blue)

Thursday: Swim 2500 yards
Free weights / Shoulders/Chest/Biceps/Triceps
Abdominal/Conditioning Work

Friday: Pilates
Run on the treadmill for 30 minutes
Free weights / Legs and back
Abdominal/Conditioning Work

Saturday: Body Pump (Les Mills)
40 minutes of mixed cardio (bike and elliptical)
Abdominal/Conditioning Work

Sunday: Day off



My Meal Plan

I try and eat a balanced diet. Some weeks are better than others. I found that the best way for me to eat a well balanced diet is to follow an 80/20 split. I eat healthy 80% of the time and I “cheat” 20% of the time. I get very crabby if I feel like I am depriving myself. If I want some chips, I eat chips…..I just don’t eat them everyday. I also restrict my alcohol intake to 1 day a week. I find that my workouts really suffer if I drink they night before. So, I usually just drink on Saturdays.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE group exercise classes. It is a great way to torch serious calories and have fun while you do it. They instructors are knowledgeable and can answer questions and help you with your form. It is a win-win situation. I am also a big advocate of not doing the same exercise routine 2 days in a row. The more muscle confusion you throw at your body, the more results you can get. I also enjoy participating in Indoor Triathlons held at my gym, Villa Sport. It is a fun way to get in a GREAT workout and it allows me to engage my competitive side as well.
