I am a 48 year old
man and am struggling to lose fat from my 40 inch stomach. For most of
my life I've eaten pretty poorly and am only now trying to eat better.
Any tips you could give an oldie who wants to try and gain back some
of their youth! I know I need to try an boost my metabolism, so any
tips or advice would be much appreciated.
Dear
Friend
Thanks for the
question. Your problem of trying to slim your waist down and
having a hard time doing it is not uncommon. As most people start
to get older, things tend to slow down, especially their
metabolism. A great way to help boost your metabolism is by trying
to eat anywhere between 4-6 small meals a day. You would
be breaking down these meals over the entire day, and trying
to eat approximately every two and a half to three hours, eg:
7:00
-Breakfast
10:00 AM - Snack #1
1:00 PM - Lunch
4:00 AM - Snack #2
7:00 AM - Dinner
By eating smaller
more frequent meals, your metabolism will respond a lot better to
this, and it will provide that boost you need, where you will burn
more calories and never feel starving. One other thing is trying
to clean up your diet. When people think of "diet," they
usually think of food tasting bland or just unappetizing. There
are many books out there that contain delicious, healthy recipes
that are easy to make.
