By the age of eight my passion for fitness was in full swing. I was taught
the importance of body weight moves like push ups, sit ups, pull ups and
dips. I would use tree limbs for pull ups and the backs of chairs or bar
stools were perfect for dips. I believe fitness is a lifestyle and NEVER
seasonal. That is why I would love to work with children to develop healthy
habits at an early age. By doing this you're less likely to fall into that
category of people that stop training after their high school or college
sports career is over. It wasn't until my later twenties that I decided I
wanted to participate in natural bodybuilding. This September will be my
first competition and I'm very excited to say the least! I'm also proud to
represent the men and women that give their training everything they've got
and then some without the use of STEROIDS!
My workout Split:
Through trial and error I've found that training four times a week is best
for a hard gainer like myself. I also train at my house due to the focus I
get by being by myself.
Monday: weighted pull ups, dead lifts and biceps
Tuesday: weighted dips, chest (extra focus on upper chest)
Wednesday: off (abs)
Thursday: weighted pull ups, shoulders and back
Friday: weighted dips, legs and triceps
Saturday: off
Sunday: abs
I also have two sons, one three and the other seven. They do pull ups, sit
ups and push ups to failure on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
My ab tip
On ab days I train with and without weights. I keep them guessing with
different workouts each time, going to failure with each exercise.
Diet and Supplements:
Like I said earlier, I'm a hard gainer, so I eat six meals a day
supplementing with Trumass first thing in the morning, followed by a GNC
sport multivitamin. I also supplement with Trumass and creatine before and
after my workout.
In closing I would like to say don't ever quit or give up because you're not
getting the results you want in the amount of time you feel you should.
In fitness its all about balance. The smallest change in your workout
routine, diet or rest can give you very positive results.
